Regeneration 2023 Program

Regeneration Festival was held at the Mullum SEED Eco Hub, home of Mullum Community Garden on the 4 March, 2023, between 9:00 am to 5pm.

There was affordable & delicious food, coffee & chai, fresh vegetarian gluten-free treats, zero waste to landfill & great information stalls.

For kids there were fun activities all day, including Seed-Bomb Making, Fire Trucks & the Spaghetti Circus Playspace.

10am – Reconnect with Regeneration

A panel on incentives for farmers, land-holders, workers, and the world, chaired by Mick O’Regan, with Rhonda James, Bushland Restoration Services, Georgina Jones, Envite and Liz Caddick, Byron Shire Council Biodiversity Team Leader.

Dave Rawlins11am – Walk/Talk – Dave Rawlins
Dave Rawlins is a passionate advocate for biodiversity conservation, he has been restoring a range of vegetation communities and working on threatened species recovery projects in Byron Shire for over 20 years.

With Mark Dunphy, Jake Lennon, Firewheel Rainforest Nursery, Big Scrub Rainforest Conservancy; Michelle Chapman, Stephen Forshaw, ReForest Now. All ages and abilities, in ReForest Now Nursery.

Seed Bomb MakingAll Day For Kids – Seed Bomb Making
Conservation Volunteers Australia will host a riverbank seed bomb making activity. It’s lots of fun so come along and get your hands dirty!

spaghetti circusAll Day For Kids – Spaghetti Circus Playspace
Spaghetti Circus will run a fun playspace for kids all day, in the kids space. And at 3pm a special performance from the Spaghetti Circus Super Mighties.

Byron Shire Chemical Free Landcare Bush Regenerator Nadia de Souza Pietramale will talk about how to convert a Camphor laurel forest, back into rainforest, with zero synthetic herbicides.

Sarah Armstrong3pm – Kids Space – Sarah Armstrong + Spaghetti Circus
All Sarah Armstrong’s novels (for adults and kids) are set around Mullumbimby. Her latest – ‘Big Magic’ for readers aged 9+ – is set in a circus and includes magic borrowed from nature.  Also don’t miss a special performance from the Spaghetti Circus Super Mighties. 

Palm Wine Ambassadors​4pm – Dance to The Palm Wine Ambassadors
MC Mandy Nolan introduces the fabulous 9-piece Afro-world music groove sensation.

Bohemian_Treats​Bohemian Treats
Visionary Bohemian rocker, Felicity Lawless stimulates the senses and elevates the soul with music fusing Gypsy, world rock and folk elements. MsEleneous adds flourishes of virtuosic gypsy clarinet, saxophone and heart warming harmonies. The pair will drop in during the day for surprise performances.
